About the Company
Jake Young- Lincoln Logs Surfing Company started out as just a logo. I was making some boards for myself and wanted a consistent logo to put on all of them. I really enjoyed working with my hands and riding equipment that I had shaped. Now I had a logo that I liked also. I began thinking about actually starting a business but before I ever did anything to start it, I was asked if I would shape a custom board. This longboard became Lincoln Logs' first business deal. Lincoln Logs' purpose has been to sell quality boards ever since.
About the Name
So Jacob, how did you come up with that name? Well, as a somewhat direct relative of Mr. Abe himself, I felt I should pay tribute to one of our most famous presidents. The word "logs" comes from the nickname for a longboard, my stick of choice every time. Also, "lincoln logs" just has this ring to it that reminds me of something from my childhood... but I can't quite put my finger on it. Finally, cousin Abe looks pretty sweet on the nose.
